A certain member of this forum has inspired me to blow the dust off my Bible and re-read it . |

I just got done with a most entertaining book. 'The world without us.' by Alan Weisman. I think Denni mentioned it somewhere before. It's really chock full of intriguing ideas and info. Example: No one knows the 'half-life' of many plastics. Why? They've never broke down. They could be in the sea and soil and in the bodies of critters for decades...maybe centuries. Very good read. |

Just finished 'A Voyage for Madmen'. It's a retelling of the imfamous 1968 Golden globe nonstop-around the world boating race. Very curious read. Now I'm trying to figure a way to have a around-the-planet boat trip in a story. |

I just finished Joshua Slocum's 'Sailing Alone Around The World'. It's about....sailing around the world. He was the first person to have done it alone, it is a good book. He's got a bit of wit that made fun reading. |
