Does anyone else have a book they just loved; yet it hasn't been made into a movie?

When I was a kid, a book titled 'The forgotten door" just entertained me so much. Yet, in all these years, I've never heard of a movie based on it.

Anyone else?

The Glass Castle. But something tells me a movie might be coming out. Typically movies are never as good as the book, except for The Devil Wears Prada, which was as good or better than the book.

How about the Greater London phone book ?
No plot but a cast of thousands !!

I agree, Xx, on Point of Impact. The movie went so far astray it just didn't work.

I just got the impression the director was afraid to show someone with firearms skill as a hero. Just isn't 'hollywood' nowadays.

Read the comments on it. Most of them sound very much the way I feel about it.

Iowanic it sounds really good and got mostly rave reviews (read some of them). I wonder if I could find it in my used bookstore. I'm going to make a note of this one. You think I'm too old to enjoy it?

Still.....I'd love to see it done again.

Any of Piers Anthony's Xanth novels would make a heck of a movie.. or his one about man's evolving (forget the title.. he did one about women too either of those works). Some of the Star Wars series after the rebels defeated the emperor would make good movies.. the newer ones where Jacen is turning into a Sith Lord would be awesome as a movie. Although.. I'm still rather peeved they killed off Chewie and Anakin Solo.
