Sorry, I missed this the first time you posted it.

I'm especially interested in environmental issues - global climate change of course, and pollution abatement in general, as well as endangered species. I find the politics of it all both fascinating and frustrating. How is it that the major polluters are able to convince so many of the rest of us that it's in our best interest to let them continue to rape and pillage our environment?

O.K. I will see what I can dig up for you. Bare with me as environmental is not my strong suit but there are many here are very knowledgable in such discussions. And please feel free to start threads as well.

Hi everyone I am new here. I was Ivan the gorilla's Keeper in Tacoma Washington until 1992. I also volunteered at Woodland Park Zoo for 13 years in the gorilla unit. I am against breeding in zoos and am still looking for Justice for ivan the gorilla who was moved to Zoo Atlanta where he lost 75-100 pounds. I love these animals and think we need to do better for them and stop the breeding, especially with elephants.

Hiya, Gorillamom! Welcome and well met!

You sound like someone we can never have enough of around here, someone with a unique view. I especially look forward to your view on zoos.

Be warned: things do get kinda rugged around here. It's not personal(Usually) but a helmet might be a good investment and a sense of humor is a life-saver.

Have fun!
(Oh, keep a eye on Wayne. He's weird)

So, please refresh my memory... was Ivan at Point Defiance or was he the one that was in the... strip mall place? I don't recall, and please don't think me a total dork. THanks!
