Quote:
Milwaukee Brewers’ baseball team slugger Prince Fielder last season hit 50 home runs. In the off-season, he decided to become a vegetarian, eliminating meat and fish from his diet. This year, through the Brewers’ first 20 games, he has hit just one homer. The fans, according to AgCenter.com, “are outraged and frequent calls from the bleachers chide him to ‘get a steak.’”

Sorry, this site just gives headlines and not links to the stories. But it would be esay to look up his stats to insure they are accurate.

I hear tell the fellow in question did, in fact, have a sub-par season, for him.
His diet may not be the cause, of course. Baseball is a quirky game.

The update to this season: Fielder is having a very good year so far. I don't know if it's the diet but he's cutting loose on the baseball in a impressive fashion.

Codswallop. Since giving up meat I put on two stones and am considerably stronger than your average meat eater and twice as fast. Throw that ball matey... and here comes the crunch.... I look ten years younger than my age. No bull.

Considering the body takes alot more effort to digest meat I guess it makes sense eating a vegetable based diet the machine will last longer.

Just my sixpenny worth.

Don't forget Carl Lewis a vegan.

If you need to justify eating meat maybes you are feeling a bit guilty!

I understand Fielder signed a 5 year contract worth 125 million.
Staggering....

Yeah .... I've noticed that Iowanic likes to bring up old threads. Sometimes I get it .... but there are plenty of current threads now ..... what makes this one interesting enough to bring back to life?
