The H1N1 influenza outbreak, which began in April last year, was marked by controversies over whether the WHO and public health authorities had exaggerated the risks of H1N1 and created unnecessary alarm by declaring it a 'pandemic'.

The WHO has also been criticized for its pandemic alert system that focuses on geographical spread of the outbreak rather than its severity, and on alleged conflicts of interests between health officials and experts and vaccine makers.

The review will examine how well the WHO and its 193 member states prepared for and responded to the swine flu outbreak, whether the risks were fully understood or exaggerated and poor countries' access to vaccines, WHO flu expert Keiji Fukuda said.




The United States ordered enough antigen to make 229 million doses of vaccine as the swine flu pandemic began to ramp up a year ago. About 162 million doses have been shipped and between 81 and 91 million doses have been administered, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The Washington Post reported that an estimated 71.5 million doses of H1N1 vaccine may have to be discarded if not used before expiry, costing millions in taxpayer dollars.

would it be a strange thing if it turns out that the pharma companys were behind this to see how it spread,just like the flu that the 'british goverments sick scientist' releast into the under ground many years ago,nasty way to make a small fortune thru fear and the chemicals 'people'try to fight this sort of problem.it aint like they have any morals,not with the way they abuse the creatures of this world for money!food for thought,rather a wake up call.they tell us thing through the media(they control)and then it happens.NEVER trust them,they have been riding of the backs of many for a very long time.whos got the shares in the 'cure',then you see the real problem start to finish big monney!we have a good reason not to trust them,they push chemicals and want the herbal med world ban in the uk and parlement will be voting on this soon,leaving most to the pharma companys for help rather than growing the right meds for what we need,gardens use to have all the herbs,now there are no gardens or people with the infomation to prevent illness,a quick fix is what they want.would this sort of problem would not have happend in a world with out meat eaters,says some thing for the vegan world.its just another trick to make you look one way and then while thats happening there sticking it to another,the world was not happy with the war at the time.what happend about the aids,bio warfare is what its regd as,not a natrall illness.if you look at what it afects,unsafe sex people.gay people and iv drug users,what a strange thing that is what the many goverments hate,it didnt quite work and has there been any thing along these lines since?a good way to cull the less fortunate persons of the world who are to them a burden,monney kills!
