hi! my name's lucy and i live in australia...

i'm absolutely passionate about animal and human rights and i intend to dedicate my life to defending them. i'm 17 and hope to do law at uni next year. i'm a vegetarian waiting for that moment when i can move out of home and become a full vegan!

i'm so glad a place like this exists...i tend to get fairly disillusioned with the state of humanity when i'm constanty surrounded by john-howard/george-bush-loving and meat-devouring rednecks! lol. :D

looking forward to seeing everyone around!

Hello Lucy.

Welcome to the board. You'll find many people here who agree 100% with you, somewhat with you, or not at all.

Don't let people get to here. Most are just looking for intelligent conversations about subjects that are important to them.

I myself am an environmentalist more then anything.

Josh also has a Great site with many links to important subjects. If you haven't yet, check out the Envirolink Homepage.

Hey now, watch the redneck comments, but other than that welcome to the forum! :)

P.S. What about meat-devouring city slickers?

Welcome Lucy!

I have a sister who lives in Australia. Peter Singer is from Australia.

It is very comforting to see a young person like yourself being compassionate and caring for animals.

Speciesisam, sexism, racism, ageism are very deep and are all around us. Fighting them is an enormous task, but it is our duty to fight for rights and justice for all the living and feeling beings whenever we can. Young people like yourself are very important in this struggle. You will be the one who will continue to carry the torch.

Ante
