I've always thought one of the many faults of democracy is the party in power will look after its self-interests at the expense of the country.

Well, mothy, you hit the nail on the head this time!!

And "they" are trying to take away what our country REALLY is supposed to be---a REPUBLIC. Actually, a representative democratic Republic. Many of "our representatives" are representing special interests instead. Corporations, unions, various organizations, but NOT the people they are supposed to be working for.
I think the Tea Party effort is to stop that and to get back to our roots, that is the part I approve of wholeheartedly. Certainly the media distorts this, and some use it for subversion or political gain, then drop the principles. The corruption in DC is rampant.

To be honest I think democracy as a whole is a delusion.

It gives people the belief they have a say in the countries policies wheras as here in uk there was never a referendum on whether the people in the uk wanted to be in the EU. The EU now controls 80% of UK's laws. The Roman Empire springs to mind.
The people are given the right to vote on those policies that will not have such a great effect on the countries outcome. Democracy the way I see is an easier way for the money families'bankers to exert control and influence in the way they want to shape society and make more money. Call me a delusional conspiracy theorist, I may well be but that is how I view it.
That is why I believe they are ridding the world of dictators and spreading democracy which implements the new world order alot easier.

Ever since day one I knew it was primarily about oil and later to the switching of the dollar to a different measurement, but like I said the next stage of my thinking was I thought democracy is the best way for the banking families to control things, but once these oil rich countries have been controlled then will be the lesser one's in respect of value. America and Europe are already controlled, Middle East is being shaped then Africa, eventually then they will be a force to take on China and Russia in the battle of Armageddon in the middle east.

Armageddon won't be the end of the world but a source of more money for the elite.

And again they can start their philosophies and prophesies based on prior knowledge.

Assuming it was not already under the control of that same group and also assumng it would cease to exist when it was under the control of those particular sets of republicans.



Really? I suppose that is why the statistics show job creation over loss, thus making the job creation large business by default.

Only when the definition is manipulated since we are a democratic republic, and in some cases a pure democracy when items are placed on the ballot as a public referendum. Such referendums may be used to determine what changes to make in the laws supposedly the only things limiting the government. Any law in the US may be changed by a 2/3 majority of the legislatures of 2/3 of the states........
