The Heartland case sort of backfired on the Proponents when it was revealed that one of the scientists supporting their cause (Gleick) was found to have stolen them.
Did you miss the part where Heartland tried the same thing with Greenpeace and failed?

The document that was most incriminating, the 2012 Climate Strategy Document turned out to be a fake as well.
That was the claim, but whether that claim was factual has not been determined.

What it shows, is that there is dishonesty on both sides of the debate, with skeptics and proponents alike resorting to stolen documents to try and prove their points.
That it does, but then again sometimes one has to fight fire with fire, which would mean Heartland got a Karma slap.
Typical case of advocacy organizations clashing heads. Nothing new to see here.
I really do not know why you guys continue to focus on Heartland, when it has absolutely nothing to do with the science surrounding Climate Change at all.
Heartland is now realizing what it's like to get documents stolen. They proudly displayed the Climategate e-mails on their website, but are now crying about their documents getting stolen.
They definitely have a double standard on that issue.
The faked document can easily be proven... just look at the properties of the PDF file for example.
