CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Imagine getting a telephone call from your favorite pharmacy asking you to pick up a prescription for an antibiotic to cure the trace of pneumonia that was detected in your nightly full health test relayed from your Health-O-Watch integral bed monitor system.

With elements of science and technology now being developed, this can indeed be a possible future for us all. Nanosensors capable of identifying single molecules of a particular nature are close to reality.

In this world getting poorer from overpopulation, how many will afford it?? Kind of like "Peace Sells, But Who's Buying"...... #-o

And those same nanosensors detecting that you're morbidly obese and don't deserve that antibiotic

That would be the insurance company maintaining their profit margin in the free market, right?

They'd have to duke it out with pharma, for they'd want the morbidly obese just alive enough to be as miserable as possible. #-o

The rapier trust hit it's mark. The more control given ,the more adept the managers get at picking the winners & losers in the game, according to profit margins.

Don't forget the third-party(nanny State) trying to take over control of the pharmaceuticals & the Insurance aspects of the game while they decide which companies get to thrive or take a nose dive. The science which Wayne drew attention to could be a great thing but the application could also be much different according to how modern bureaucrats apply the knowledge.

Mostly only those drugs not yet in the generic arena. Too many of those are not even being produced in sufficient quantities because the profit margin is not large enough now. The few with no other suppliers, however, can really be jacked up in price,
