How do intentional walks from the pitcher throwing outside or trying to bean you, count on you batting average? In high school 11th grade, I was at bat 48 times, hit 20 home runs, two doubles, and was attempted to be beaned 8 times(hit twice, but walked all with no penalty called on the pitcher! ), stepped out of the box and hit a home run, but called out once(almost a riot! ), and non-bean balls thrown outside for intentional walk 17 times, RBIs-28. Dirty bastard pitchers ruined our school's chance to lead, with me being an even bigger home run king (I still led the conference with 20, using a Louisville Slugger 44). 22 hits, 1 out, 25 walks.
What was my 11th grade batting average? I think it should be 980.

Actually; intentional walks do not count as hits; so they are not part of batting average. They do count as part of on-base%; since the batter is, in fact getting on base due to them.

On a side-note; for a few years back in the 1890's(I'm guessing on the years) base on balls did count as hits, so you had a number of batters listed as batting well over .400.

Also in those long ago years; advancing on a sac-fly or fielder's choice was counted as a stolen base. That is no longer the case....

Johnny....one thing I was wondering about...

Didn't the pitchers on your own team protect you? The unwritten rule is: someone throws at one of yours, you throw at one of their's till the nonsense stops.

Good news: Zeke Myth's cast comes off in less then two weeks. He'll have to rehab but the signs look good...

Update on Myth's season so far:

A) He and his girlfriend Alicia are planning on getting married....

B) His cast is off(As of today) and in 4 to 5 weeks; he should be back in the cub's lineup; where they could very much use him!

Myth's 6 days from getting married....

The all-star game is just around the corner, but Myth won't be able to play. The irony is: as fine as seasons as Myth's put up his first few years; he's only been able to actually play in a single all-star game.

Alonso is still leading the WDC.

Zeke Myth was married yesterday and he and his bride are zooming off across the country for a few weeks on their Syder Roadster.
They don't have a lot of plans for this trip except Zeke wants to see the Gettysburg battlefield; Alicia wants to see Niagra falls and they need to be in Cooperstown, for the hall of fame induction(Cub great Ron Santo in going in this summer)

In the early going; Zeke is at least not killed anyone with his driving.

The 13th was a very busy day for the newlyweds.

When they went out to set out for the day; they found a note taped to the handlebars of the roadster. It's a rambling, threatening riddle meantioning Zeke's name often.

Zeke's gotten these riddles a few times the last 6 monthes: he's convinced they're from the phantom driver of the big white SUV that ran him down in May.

They decide to set out anyway....

A couple hours later, Alicia urgently get's Zeke's attention to look behind them...

There's a big white SUV.....slowly gaining on them...
