Not once did the story or the abstract mention Dobson Units. Any story lacking measurements strikes me as disingenuous. But wait there is more.
Why would a story mention unist of measure that most of the readers may not recognize and therefore not add anything and take space? The abstracts often do not mention units of measure unless the paper is directly about measurements.

Because this mechanism has only been detected now, there are no historical data about how much water vapor has been moved upward by such storms over time, and so the researchers can’t say just how much total increased ozone depletion has occurred so far. But their concern is the future.
So toss in a scary story, but CYA say we don't really know, but the future looks really scary. An all to familiar dishonest template really.
Dishonesty by being honest about the historical data when discovering a new impact on the ozone layer? Just yesterday the weather report was pointing out the increased height of some of the storm systems this summer because it was unususal, which would make the concerns very valid.
