We take 3 ozs. of Essiac tea every morning. I mix 1/4 cup of cinnamon with it and an extra cup over one gallon to a rounded 3/4 cup of either Optimally Organic.com 8 herb "Essiac" or the original 4 herb blend called Guardian Spirit from iHerb.com(least expensive). After it cools I mix in a cup of honey. This sweetens the tea and has the cinnamon/honey benefit, too.
I also use my small food processor to grate a frozen whole lemon (first washed, ends cut off, and delabeled). This is added to our all fruit juice for its preventative effects. Our coffee in the morning has a tablespoon of ganoderma lucidum broken spores added to the basket of our "28 cup" peculator. More immune support and diabetes prevention.
The original formula for "Essiac" was trial and error formulated over several thousand years by Indian medicine men, just like Ganoderma was used 4000 years ago in SE Asia. I don't know when the cinnamon/honey mixture was found to be an effective cold fighter and immune booster, or the extreme anti-cancer effects of whole grated lemons was found out. More recently, I believe.
Of course drug companies are out to find the chemical and extracts from old remote medicine men, and berate the less expensive herbal concoctions they do not control. Doctors are taught to be skeptical because many herbal remedies don't work very well.
Rene Caisse had to fight them in court and won her right to use "Essiac" with her patients. Since she gave the formula away, there have been many who have profiteered off it, which she did not want.

A very good old friend of mine is presently treating his throat cancer with radiation and chemo(his brother died from it last month), before that with essiac I gave him, and a whole lemon ground in a blender mixed with a can or orange juice to make 48-64ozs. He had to quit the essiac temporarily while on chemo and use the Reishi Ganoderma to amplify the chemo's anti-cancer effects. He really likes the orange juice/whole lemon.
I had originally sent him a pound of Essiac and 20 Ganoderma tea packs. Another 100 of them for Christmas to be used with green tea.
The Ganoderma has to be stopped occasionally because of blood thinning, and the Essiac and chemo don't mix well. After, he will be taking 2 or 3 3oz of Essiac tea a day for a month them 3oz/day. Two glasses of orange juice/whole lemon a day for a couple months then once a day. The green tea/ganoderma twice a day for a month them once a day with breaks with it and the Essiac every 6 months for a week.
It is known that Essiac does not work with all cancers or people, the same with the whole lemons and Reishi Ganoderma. So it is logical to use this triple approach. Plus he decided on the extra two of radiation and chemo, but decided against arbitrary long surgery after.
It is thought by others and Rene Caisse that chemo is a real killer. It killed my cousin and aunt. The Ganoderma is known to help keep a person strong during chemo, along with a good multivitamin/mineral supplement and the orange juice/whole lemon.

With my herbal/vitamin/mineral guidance, my wife has been cancer free for 22 years(cervical cancer), and we both have not been even a little sick for at least 8 years.
My Hep C is in very low numbers and my liver has been restored to normal with Liv52.
We use the Essiac and Ganoderma and ground whole lemon almost daily as preventative measures and immune system boosters.
We also use MSM/Glucosamine for our joints, with turmeric(sometimes with ginger or bromelain), and fish/flax oil/niacin/B6/COQ10 for heart and cholesterol. I also use Melatonin to help sleep better.
We both look 10 to 15 years younger than many of our friends.

"Essiac is an herbal remedy that was prescribed and promoted for about 50 years by Rene M. Caisse, a Canadian nurse who died in 1978. Shortly before her death, she turned over the formula and manufacturing rights to the Resperin Corporation, a Canadian company that has provided it to patients under a special agreement with Canadian health officials. Several reports state that the formula contains burdock, Indian rhubarb, sorrel, and slippery elm, but there may be additional ingredients. Essiac tea claimed to be Caisse's original formulation is also marketed in the United States. Several animal tests using samples of Essiac have shown no antitumor activity. Nor did a review of data on 86 patients performed by the Canadian federal health department during the early 1980s"
86 case tests is less than Rene Caisse did in one of her 50 years of success with the formula.
My friend who just went through chemo has swollen legs, boils and a whole body rash from the chemo. He is starting back on the essiac, whole lemon, and ganoderma lucidum with green tea as soon as he gets off cortisone shots for the chemo reaction.
