First time poster here. The controversy about whether natural gas is a viable and greener energy source than our current means of generating electricity is a hotly debated topic. I made a video that I think is very relevant to this topic as well as our energy future, and I encourage you to check it out!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DjThhAUi ... e=youtu.be
From the material I've read I don't believe much in the natural gas bridge fuel solution. Even if it operated optimally according to your figures it would be driving us off the cliff at 50 mph rather than 100 mph. Some solution! And of course it doesn't operate optimally. There are studies to show that with the methane leakage, it contributes as much to global warming per BTU as oil and coal.
Of course there is no solution that doesn't include population limits. But for some reason all the technical smart guys just don't want to deal with that or imagine growth will just peter out in 2050 or 2100 or whatever. Like we've got all the time in the world while we are presently eating up 1 1/2 earths and adding 200,000 new folks to the planet each day(That's births minus deaths) and are on target to run out of our carbon budget before 2030.
