Human Green House Gases which are the cause of Anthropogenic Global Warming.

As opposed to natural green house gases which were usually absorbed by plant life and turned into energy a with sunlight and oxygen as a waste product. During the era leading to PETM, prolonged vulcanism caused a rise in CO2 at 1/10th to 1/40th the present or relatively near future. This caused methane self release which warmed it 16*F causing a 30% ELE and took 150 K years to resequester, plus 2 million years to regain species lost. Because the rise is so much faster now, and the amount of sequestered CH4 is substantially greater, the effects will be higher temperature too fast for most life to adapt, so a much larger ELE. Also much longer resequestration time and species loss regained. :cry: [-o< :x :shock: :shh: :mrgreen:

Thanks, the AGW acronym is the one I'm familiar with.

One thing the deniers had was that they thought the Antarctic was gaining ice as the Arctic was losing it.
http://www.climatecentral.org/news/look ... eath-16128

" Ice experts have long known that Antarctica is losing ice at the margins of its vast ice sheets, where the frozen continent meets the sea — presumably, they thought, from icebergs breaking off and floating away.

According to a report published in Science, however, more than half the ice loss is coming from warming ocean waters, which are melting the ice from underneath."

Plus, this one gives us 7 more years than Hansen;

This is another, because I didn't know this much was going into the oceans so quickly;

Later this day, my oldest, dearest friend died, at 62. I'll meet you in the next world.....
