I am so sorry for your loss. I know how that goes all too well. At least you have the knowledge there will be no more pain or suffering in the future.

Thanx, Wayne.
It's going to be awful lonely here.

On a side note;
i only recall ever posting one photo of Kiki here, but dang if I can find it.
There was a "what do you look like thread" way back in which I mentioned I would post one but in which thread I actually did, I haven't been able to find.
Any help in this area I would be most grateful.

I am sorry to say that thread was lost to an automatic "pruning" some years ago. That pruning no longer occurs, but it does not help all of that lost information, especially your picture.

My mother-in-law was feeding a stray cat which had kittens. We are now dealing with two bundles of energy in kitten costumes .... along with the 8 year old rescue male cat, the 13 year old rescued miniature rat terrier, the 2.5 year old Rhodesian Ridgeback mix, the two goldfish who were supposed to be living in the fountain outside, and the 55 gal aquarium with fish that seem to constantly be pregnant. I can send you an assortment .... except the Rhodie she is mine now.

Well, it's been a year and I still miss my old friend. But: time moves on.
I don't think I can ever have another pet: the pain of loss just gets too great.

I feel for you. Our little dog is terminal but should die of something else due to the nature of the illness and her advanced age of 16. She is having fewer good days and they are farther apart so at some time there is will one last trip out for her. I still remember finding her at a puppy mill and only bringing her home because I did not have enough cash on me to buy the others. We named her Lucky because she escaped at a young age. She was to keep our dog at the time company, which she did until he went on that one way trip to the farm where all good dogs go to live. We keep saying we do not need another pet but one will show up at the shelter and I just cannot bear to leave it there. Pets hurt when they leave but they give so very much to us while they are here. I think we still come out better with them than without. And yes we have another dog that was to keep Lucky company and goes to work with me every day. I even got rid of the SUV I was driving and bought a 4 door sedan because she did not like trying to get in and out of the higher vehicle. Not the least bit spoiled at all .....

Time cures. Iowanik, did you read Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's "The Little Prince"? There was a “Fox” who told him about friendship and what attachment was.
