I definitely have a lack of sense of humor today. I was just saying that RF's post was to enflame and should be deleted just like wijim's post

RF's post was f.u.n.n.y because it's true. I saw no sign of trying to enflame...lol.

His point was that apparently it's not pictures of dead animals that is the problem, but that it's the intent of the individual poster that is taken into consideration.

If pictures of dead animals are to show some misuse of animals, then it's okay to post pictures of dead animals. If pictures of dead animals are posted to show the animals that someone killed to eat, then apparently that's a no-no. Isn't that a rather ridiculous approach?

No..I got thick skin. But possibly it may have got to someone else. Funny how someone can post pics of fish with recipes, and get them deleted. But someone else can post proposing violence and dismemberment of a human and see that it is ok. Was it your intention to enflame?

No...it was my intention to point out exactly what I bolded in your post, above.

Now granted...that might burn someone's ass...but such is life.

i'll spare yall the rest of the list.....but it does go on.

I agree ... TO A POINT. However, the links posted are in relation to a discussion on a concerns issue. Your post on the fish you caught did not have such a relational connection. It was obviously a sharp stick and that is only fun until someone looses an eye ...

OMG you are all such babies! I'm literally in the middle of a federal disaster area (New Orleans) right now and dealing with real problems. It would appear that this issue has resolved itself, right?

I didn't see the original posts before they got edited so I have no ability to judge what someone's intent was. I can think of many other places online that it would be appropriate to post one's pictures of fish they caught, animals they've hunted, trophies their kids have won at sports, etc. It all seems just as irrelevant to this site.

Since we're all posting off-topic photos anyway, I took just a few photos today (hopefully more tomorrow) of some of the incredible and total destruction that happened here in New Orleans. Rather than posting the photos here, I'll just link to them.

Ok, I have had a chance to get a little more information and while it does not change the outcome it does change how I would have affected the correction. Wijim did not know of the Jerky thread being removed and thus should have been given a more detailed response on the situation initially. This was an error on my part in assuming he knew and this is a public apology to go with the private one he has already been given.

I am reminded that not everyone knows everything and would like to remind everyone else of that fact. When you see someone make such an error you can nicely point out that it is a problem and if there is no response then things can be handled by a moderator. This seems to be the trend at times and I hope that it continues. So, if someone you agree with makes a mistake point it out to them so they can correct it. It will look better on both of you. If you see a mistake by someone with whom you disagree you can also nicely point it out to them. If they do not correct it they are the only ones looking bad. However, if you make them defensive you can come across as a bully to. We are mostly adults here and we should be able to be civil at least during the times where there is not a philosophical difference being discussed.

I know there is a perception of a dichotomy and to some extent I believe there is, but there is a bit of a difference in trying to inflame your opponents and trying to inflame your own side. That is the significant difference in the two situations as I see it.

You will now be returned to the regularly scheduled program already in progress ...

apology accepted.

i hope nobody was offended by seeing fish guts. i honestly thought that because we are all aware of the existence of guts, meat and generalities of those items, that it might go to show that none of those items are heinous items that needed to be hidden in the shadows. many on this forum eat meat. most on this forum (if not all) have eaten meat at one point. i seriously didnt see the ick factor of such a picture. if i truly set out to offend i could have shown a picture of the guts etc defiled in a manner outside of the result of just cleaning a fish. the image was a natural result of efficient meat removal of a fish meant to be eaten.

the purpose of the post was to show that there is nothing wrong with these things in a quest for hunting for food and wildlife management, through hunting/fishing. i attempted humor of my decision on how i'd prepare the fish. my posting of the gut picture as well as the "on ice" picture was to show a realistic view of those items not sugar coated, not overdone or posed as so often is the case for things that are shown to try and express the contrary viewpoints of hunting and fishing. i thought the pictures would show images that are common with the care and handling of game. in fact i was suprised by dontars comments of being one who eats meat but does not prep ones food as such. to me that shows a problem with how people isolate themselves from what is widely viewed as unpleasantries of how we get food. food does not come from wrappers in a grocery store...although many people only see that version of where their food comes from....thats a sad state of being in my opinion. it amazes me to realize folks will eat that of which they dont know the origin. im not being critical, but am going to show that if at an early age we all were aware of these things....our minds would be made up to choose diet based on knowledge, and honesty. not being taken in to believing guts are "icky".

Again as I have said before I am a meat eater as well and not offended by such images, and I am a personal believer that many people are offended by things that aren't really that offended and just taking things to seriously, but still even though I believe this I still don't like to do things when I know there is a chance that I am going to upset someone. Also yes meat and guts exist, and so does sex and drugs but we don't post pictures of those do we?

So, as each and every person every day of your life lets you know what upsets them, you slowly but surely become a person who ultimately can't say or do much of anything because you've allowed yourself to be controlled by the desires of others.

You sure you want to live like that? Just curious.

BTW, I realize that your intention is no doubt to be nice and courteous, which isn't a bad thing at all; but, the phrasing of your statement pretty much says that you're willing to give into the emotional whims of everyone you run across in life...an exhausting, self-defeating approach for sure, as you come to eventually realize that you've been played for a complete fool by the "controllers/manipulators" of the world.

Well, hey, my middle name isn't "Cynical Beotch" for nuttin'! :-)
