So, our daily average post rates are at an all time high, lots of new users and it seems like a rather good churn rate in terms of variety of topics, etc. We also hit yet another record in terms of users logged in at once on the site. I'm putting this in the Open Forum so that we can have more of an open-style discussion about how people think things are going. I'd like for this NOT to turn into a "she's a wanker/he's a jerk" kind of discussion, but rather what could we all do to keep this place interesting.

I'm curious about whether anyone is using the Chat Room or not. I could upgrade it so that we could see how many people are logged in at any given time, get transcripts, etc. I know that many years ago the chat was everyone's favorite part of the site.

Should I just stop being a control freak (quoting Bean's assessment of me) and let everything just keep purring along? Are we purring along or is this in fact the pro-hunting, meat-only eating attack asylum that a few Brits (and arc108) claim it is?

I think that it's fine for the most part. I find the moderating a little heavy handed sometimes, but whatcha gonna do when folks are always whining at you in "feedback". It would be fun if there were more ARAs who would stick around.

Make it clear that the Feedback section isn't a place for whiners to go unload about how they're being picked on and other such ridiculous whines.

You Think!!!! I never figured Bean for A soccer playing Stepfordian SD.

Funny thing about posts though . It always comes round to people learning to get along and try to understand each other if that is really what folks are looking for. Over moderation can be worse then under moderation so I guess we will all find balance with time.

Ah Ori,you have a hard time reading anything that isn't a picture image. Josh could you draw Ori some pics of your Chat Room so she won't get lost. Time to go now.

The moderation is to try to keep so many people from being driven off before they get comfortable posting here. No, it has not been all about complaints from ARAs either. You would be surprised at the hunters who have expressed the same sentiments.

Hunters are whiners?!? I could not imagine anyone but the ARA crowd whining. Oh that's right, the hunters just do it in PMs instead of publicly. Don't worry... I won't call any of you out.

Without using names, I would so like an example of a hunter's whine.

Josh and Wayne, you obviously mentioned this for a reason (perhaps to play?), and I was in the mood to take the bait.

So, fire away and let's see an example of a hunter's whine! :D

Chatroom?

PS - I think the moderating is just fine. Every zoo needs a keeper.

Excuse me but I need to whine about why I'm averaging such a high number of posts per day and fear taking it to the Feedback section. If you compare it to say, Donnie (or anyone) it doesn't make sense to see such low numbers. Josh?

But not every keeper has a zoo.
