Well, I guess I'll tell you a little bit about myself. I am a multi-media artist. My husband and I live in an urban renewal neighborhood in South Phoenix. I have eight beloved rescue cats. In my spare time I am cultivating a low water use garden comprised mostly of succulents and some organic produce.
As a community, Phoenix's largest environmental issue is urban sprawl. Unfortunately, the economy is largely driven by the growth and our politicians are extremely myopic regarding long term planning.
On a more positive note, we have some pretty dedicated animal rights people and organizations. They do good work without a lot of resources.
Phoenix has a fairly diverse and interesting population. Many people I meet are becoming alarmed by the direction the city, state, and country are taking with no concern for the consequences.
