Our field courses allow you to experience the intimacy of the Smokies wilderness as well as its stunning mountain scenery. Discover the luxuriant mosses, red-cheeked salamanders, and edible mushrooms that live in the forest, and learn about the non-native, exotic species that threaten their veryexistence. Spend a day getting to know the people who have made their homes in the Smokies, from the Cherokees and 19th century mountain families to the men who worked for the Little River Logging Company at the turn of century. Or discover the Smokies as a land of waterfalls andscenic vistas, and develop your skills at capturing these images on film.
