Detailed Information:
To inspire our neighbors living along the creek to plant locally native plants, The Friends have established a Native Plant Demonstration Garden in Oakland's Dimond Park.
To inspire restoration of the creek, The Friends of Sausal Creek sponsor monthly work parties at various locations along the creek. We encourage neighbors along the creek to adopt sections of the creek to maintain and provide them with technical support to do so. We provide Creek Restoration Team Leaders to other community groups desiring to do clean up projects.
To improve our own knowledge of the watershed, and to evaluate the impact of our creek restoration efforts, The Friends of Sausal Creek Bird Monitoring Teams, Aquatic Insect Team, and Water Quality Analysis Team meet monthly to collect data.
