The Santa Monica Bay Restoration Project (SMBRP) was formed in 1988 when Santa Monica Bay was included in the National Estuary Program under the Clean Water Act. The SMBRP is a partnership of government, environmentalist, industry and the general public. Working together, the SMBRP has created a plan to restore and protect the ecological integrity of Santa Monica Bay.
