OpEPA - Environmental Outdoor Education Programs (Neo-Tropics)
The Organization for Environmental Education and Protection -OpEPA- is the leading outdoor environmental education organization in Colombia, South America. Working in tropical ecosystems from rainforests to snow covered peaks in the Andes. A non-governmental, non-profit organization based in Bogotá, OpEPA’s objective is to significantly increase society’s environmental awareness and responsibility. By offering novel educational programs that provide challenging and thought-provoking experiences outside of the classroom, OpEPA hopes to plant the seed of environmental and cultural awareness in each individual. In addition, OpEPA plans to support specific grassroots programs promoting sustainable development and community-based solutions to environmental problems.
