The purpose of the Conservancy is to promote the conservation and preservation of natural and cultural resources and to encourage land-use practices along the Conemaugh River corridor.

The Conservancy uses its resources to build local coalitions to foster sound environmental practices. In addition, the Conservancy cooperates with government agencies, interested organizations, businesses, foundations and individuals in implementing programs to develop environmental awareness projects along the Conemaugh River corridor and its headwaters.
