Detailed Information:
Founded in 1892, the Sierra Club is a leader in the grassroots environmental movement. Our members not only preserve unspoiled wildlands, but they also protect endangered species and enact policies so that the air we breathe and the water we drink are safe for future generations. Here in Pennsylvania over 27,000 members contribute to our success by acting when called upon to contact their legislators or other decision-makers on critical issues, taking part in informational meetings and lobbying days, participating in outings, and donating their time and resources to local Sierra Club Groups through the state. Our Pennsylvania Environmental Lobby is the voice of our membership in Harrisburg, and we work to see that effective legislation is passed that protects our state's resources and the health of all Pennsylvanians.
