Detailed Information:
DIYA (Do It Yourself Activists!) to create a movement of community involvement, teamwork and coordination for Bangalore. DIYA was started in June 2000 with the express purpose of sustaining the animal rights/welfare movement towards creating a No Kill City.

The problem of multipying street animals is a result of a lack of community action -- people ignore the problem of street dogs until they are over-populating and then cry out for someone to kill them all! There's no room for Ahimsa where Apathy rules. The problem won't "just go away" until we do something about it!
