Detailed Information:
DIYA (Do It Yourself Activists!) to create a movement of community involvement, teamwork and coordination for Bangalore. DIYA was started in June 2000 with the express purpose of sustaining the animal rights/welfare movement towards creating a No Kill City.
The problem of multipying street animals is a result of a lack of community action -- people ignore the problem of street dogs until they are over-populating … and then cry out for someone to kill them all! There's no room for Ahimsa where Apathy rules. The problem won't "just go away" until we do something about it!
