Medomak Retreat Center
A weeklong, field-based workshop will focus on experiential education and student empowerment. Our facilitators will role-model techniques such as Inquiry-based teaching, the use of the Issue Analysis Model (for solving local community issues) and the benefits of teaching to the Multiple Intelligences. Participants will discover opportunities for obtaining grant money-enabling more field trips and project based learning. Outdoor educators will learn the benefits of including research based science into their curriculums

The Medomak Retreat Center will be introduces a workshop for Environmental Educators, and Environmentalists with a drive to "teach not preach". We're calling it "Loonsongs." This weeklong, July 27-August 2, 2003 field-based workshop will focus on experiential education and student empowerment. Our facilitators will role-model techniques such as Inquiry-based teaching, the use of the Issue Analysis Model (for solving local community issues) and the benefits of teaching to the Multiple Intelligences. Participants will discover opportunities for obtaining grant money-enabling more field trips and project based learning. Outdoor educators will learn the benefits of including research based science into their curriculums. Most importantly, we're all outside, having a blast, and learning the ecology of Maine's beautiful forests, lakes, rolling hills and coastline.
