Detailed Information:
El Manglar was established in 1994 to prevent megatoursism in the San Blas area and to protect the mangroves from further damange from the shrimp farmers. Its current project is to protect the valuable birding habitat at Singata which is now is danger because recent regulations allowing the sale of ejido land.
