Aprovecho Research Center researches and teaches many sustainable techniques. A ten-week intensive internship is offered in the spring, summer and fall. Students learn hands-on about sustaible forestry, organic gardening and appropriate technology.
Aprovecho is also renown for its stove work. Stove designs are created and tested here then brought to underveloped coutries to share techniques that will allow people to live healthier lives.
Aprovecho also explores and researches green building techniques.
