Animal Sentience
This site examines how animals think and how they feel emotionally. Using examples from farm animals, wild animals and companion animals, it tries to build an appreciation that animals feel and care about they way they feel and their environment. In turn this should help to influence the way people treat animals in society.

Detailed Information:
This web site is devoted to the subject of animal sentience - conscious thought, feelings and awareness.
The site explains what sentience means, how it can be shown and why it is important. In doing so it hopes to build concern for the way we treat animals in society. It will include animals in farming, companion animals, animals in captivity and wild animals.
While not an exhaustive summary of all the research in this area, it is designed to whet the appetite, make people appreciate the complexities of animal minds and, hopefully, help them make the right decisions whenever they are faced with an issue concerning the treatment of animals.
It is also designed to be interactive, sharing contributors experiences and thoughts.
The site plans to make animal sentience the biggest animal issue of the next decade.
