Detailed Information:
Overdevelopment, urban sprawl, and commercial creep endanger not only the rural landscape. Old center cities and established neighborhoods are destroyed by these forces as well. The founders believe that Crooked Roads are a fitting symbol of what we are losing to the trend carrying American Society toward a homogenized, standardized, impersonal corporate cookie-cutter lifestyle.
We straighten out and widen crooked, narrow, winding country roads so that we can move more people and material to more places faster and faster. The Crooked Road Society believes that we should broaden and straighten our minds and leave the roads narrow and crooked.
