Metropolitan Washington Environmental Professionals
MWEP (the Metropolitan Washington Environmental Professionals) is an organization of environmental professionals in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. MWEP includes people from a wide variety of specialties, including scientists, lawyers, consultants, activists, regulators, and journalists.

Membership is open to any interested person; there are no specific membership requirements. Members and non-members are welcome at our events. MWEP is an affiliate of the National Association of Environmental Professionals (NAEP).
Our mission is to promote the advancement in the state of the art in interdisciplinary environmental research, education, planning, assessment, review and management, through the formation and operation of a non-political, nonprofit, multidisciplinary society; and to encourage and provide opportunities for exchange of ideas, professional development and recognition of members through meetings, conferences, and other activities sponsored by the organization.
