Detailed Information:
Cope Environmental Center (CEC) is a regional provider and resource for environmental education. We offer Pre K Adult programs to the people of East Central Indiana and West Central Ohio including but not limited to the following counties: Wayne, Randolph, Union, Fayette, Henry, Preble and Butler. Our trained staff uses our unique 102-acre outdoor classroom to instill a sense of wonder in all children and adults so that they may come to appreciate and actively work to nurture and protect our natural world. Our region is in need of high-quality environmental education, and we strive to meet that need. In our outdoor classroom, students experience a diverse array of natural and developed wildlife habitats including three wetlands, two ponds, a native prairie, grasslands, hardwood forests, conifer forests, and wooded ravines. All school programs at CEC align with Indiana Education Standards and are developed to meet the needs of each teacher and each student. Our Environmental Education School Programs include hands-on lessons that deliver concepts through games, activities, experiments, and interactive discussions.

CEC provides a wide variety of programs, environmental advice, consumer guidance, and a place to experience the outdoors. Through our environmental education programs, we effectively introduce new ideas to a new generation and equip it with the tools and knowledge it needs to preserve our earth and further social change. In short, we are working to change the way people manage their environment and its resources.
