Healing Biotope I Tamera

Tamera is a cooperative of people in Portugal who work for the future with the intention to build a social model for a nonviolent culture. Our goal is to build a research settlement where the most important themes of a new, sustainable culture concept are developed.

Detailed Information:
Tamera is a peace project in Alentejo, southern Portugal, with a project site that comprises 331 acres, 30 km inland from the Atlantic coast. The project was founded by Sabine Lichtenfels and Dieter Duhm and sees itself as a support and training base for the establishment of a global power for peace.
The project's research work deals with new ways of healing both humans and nature. The aim is to develop a cultural model for a non-violent lifestyle: a "Healing Biotope". With the term 'healing biotope', we mean an intentional community of people, animals and plants mutually enhancing each others life-energy - a place where they are no longer restricted by fear or violence. Tamera is a place for: a lively trust between humans and all creatures - research into the most fundamental of life's events - a non-violent technology - a loving reunion of the genders - a sensual joy free of fear and humiliation - re-locating human life within the laws of creation - global networking.

A Healing Biotope is also as self-sufficient as possible in the areas of nutrition, ecology, water, energy and medicine. If a Healing Biotope such as this is successful, it can function like an acupuncture point for peace, healing Organism Earth and making it easier to establish similar centres and peace villages. We assume that a few such centres worldwide will suffice to build up a global field of healing. We are hoping to see the development of a network of peace villages, active groups and individuals - a new movement for everyone who loves life and wants to protect it, the Movement for a Free Earth.
