Detailed Information:
The Green Flag Program allows students - working with teachers, parents, and school administrators - to have a hands-on approach to learning about environmental issues. Students investigate their school environments by looking at areas such as: indoor air quality, recycling, use of non-toxic prodics and safe pest management. The program also provides teachers with lesson plans and other educational resources in order to link environmental issues into their curriculum.
As schools continue to improve their environments, they receive a green flag and patches as awards to show their areas of acheivement. The website provides information for students, parents, and teachers, as well as success stories from Green Flag schools.
