For almost 40 years federal and state governments have tried repeatedly to "develop" one of the world's most magnificent landscapes: the south side foothills of Alaska's Denali (Mt. McKinley). Public outcry within Alaska has stopped those plans that would overrun bear denning habitat, trumpeter swan breeding grounds, and Now a final push from Sen. Ted Stevens down to local borough government is ignoring 80-90% public comment opposition within Alaska. A group of committed area residents created a webpage to ask for international support in the form of a letter to us that we can use as wider "public comment."
