Detailed Information:
The World Land Trust (WLT) is an international conservation charity (Reg. No. 1001291), based in Suffolk, UK. Since its foundation in 1989, the Trust has been working to preserve the world's most biologically important and threatened lands, and has helped purchase and protect over 300,000 acres of habitats rich in wildlife, in Belize, Costa Rica, the Philippines, South America, India and the UK.
The WLT emphasises the importance of supporting local conservation groups and always work through local partners. The Trust does not put its own staff in charge of operations, but relies on local expertise and encourages small-scale, sustainable development, so that projects can become financially independent.
