International Federation for Alternative Trade (IFAT)
International Federation for Alternative Trade (IFAT) is a federation of producers and "alternative" trading organizations (ATOs). In IFAT, producers of handicrafts and food products from the developing countries come together directly with buyers and managers of ATOs as friends and partners in a spirit of mutual trust.

We live in an unjust world. It's a world of rich and poor in which many become poor because of unfair national and international trading practices. The majority of the poor live in the South and are frequently exploited by the wealthier and more powerful trading nations. IFAT is a fair trade movement that sets out to address this imbalance, not only through words but also with deeds.
