It is essential that we turn the tide in the loss of our coastal wetlands, a unique and precious natural resource of international significance. Enormously productive, wetlands are home to countless life forms and a source of beauty, recreation, and valuable natural resources. Our goal is to counter wetland losses with new wetland gains and improve the overall quality of Louisiana`s coastal wetlands through the projects and long-range planning of the Coastal Wetlands Planning, Protection, and Restoration Act.
