Detailed Information:
Since RESTORE: The North Woods founding in 1992 we have raised the sights and hopes of people who refuse to accept a future of declining forests, vanashing wildlife, and failing rural economies. We have provided leadership for positive change at a time when inertia, fear of controversy, and political pressure have too often held back environmental progress. We have fostered public awareness, offered creative solutions to lon-standing problems, and encouraged citizen activism. Our campaigns include the creation of a Maine Woods National Park and Preserve, the restoration of the Eastern Timber Wolf to Northern New England and New York State, and the protection of the White Mountains.
