BIOSFERA is a non-profit making NGO operating throughout Brazil. Itsmain objective is to promote international exchange and cooperation forconservation of the environment in Brazil taking into special accountsustainable development. The institution has a strong desire to preserve thebiodiversity of large Brazilian Forest Ecosystems in Amazonia, the Atlanticcoast, the Swamplands in the West and the Scrublands amongst others.BIOSFERA also has a long tradition in the organization of congresses,seminars, exhibitions and short courses on the following topics: forestconservation, ecotourism, environmental sanitation, urban problems andinternational environmental technology transfer.
