Detailed Information:
La'akea Permaculture Gardens is a twenty-five acre permaculture demonstration farm which offersmonth-long residential programs in Permaculture Design and Deep Ecology. Our design certification courses and apprenticeships are designed to meet accreditation requirements for students in an independent study program. Courses offer a balance of classroom presentation, field demonstration and hands-oninstruction.After completing the design course, students may apply to apprentice at La'akea Permaculture Gardens or one of several other organic farms in the area. These apprenticeships are an excellent opportunity for students to deepen their understanding of permaculture and organic farming techniques by working side by sidewith experienced permaculture designers and farmers. Program fees include: housing in "bunk house" style accommodations, all meals, and course materials. Meals are vegetarian (although we occasionally serve island fish).
