The Centre for Science and Environment is a public interest research and advocacy organisation in India which promotes environmentally sound and equitous development strategies. We represent Southern interests and run campaigns on issues like forests, wildlife, biodiversity, water resources, vehicular pollution, global climate etc.
We also have separate units on 'Health and Environment', 'the Green Rating Project' and 'the Education and Environment' which analyses the impact of education and industry on environment. The main aim of Education and Environment Unit, is to spread awareness amongst a younger audience about issues of sustainable development, especially the linkages between environment and development. To get the student and teaching community to understand 'the politics of survival' from a regional, national and international perspectives.
