Founded in 1993, the Sustainable Development Institute (SDI) communicates information describingenvironmental and economic linkages. SDI's activities include Atlantic CoastWatch, a monitoring and reporting service for the Atlantic Community. The bimonthly newsletter AtlanticCoastWatch is presented free of charge to those interested in environmentally sound development between the Gulf of Maine and the eastern Caribbean. The Community Forestry Policy Projectis working to strengthen the role of local communities in forest management processes. The Environmental Film Festival in the Nation's Capital also operates as an SDI sponsored project. SDI is a non-for-profit (501C) organization.
