Detailed Information:
Common Cause is a government watchdog organization committed to ending special interest politics and reforming government ethics. Common Cause does a variety of studies about the role that campaign contributions play in legislation in Congress. Such studies include a report on ADM's environmentally destructive ethanol subsidy, information on a government funded subsidy to the sugar industry that contributes to the destruction of the Florida Everglades, and a government subsidy to the timber industry which allows timber corporations to continue logging while having the government pick up the tabs on the roads that they use to access the forests where they log.
