OWM applies University of Missouri resources to statewide efforts addressing the environmental, economic, technical, and social issues associated with waste management. OWM collaborates with governments, business, and communities to develop and promote environmentally sound waste reduction and waste management strategies. OWM facilitates communication among key stakeholders, tracks legislation, assists in policy development, coordinates education and outreach activities, and mobilizes resources to insure the long-term success of waste management programs. Current projects include Recycling Market Development Program, Household Hazardous Waste Project, and the Waste Reduction Assistance Program.
