The CPC is the only national organization in the U.S. dedicated exclusively to preventing the extinction of U.S. native plants. Founded in 1984, the CPC operates a national program of off-site conservation, research, education, and restoration through a consortium of 29 leading botanical gardens and arboreta. This network maintains the National Collection of Endangered Plants, a collection of more than 550 of America's rarest plants.
