Narrow Ridge Earth Literacy Center

From 40 acres of private land and one human's dream in the late 1970s, Narrow Ridge has slowly grown into 500 acres and a non-profit center near Knoxville, Tennessee. Ecological programs and retreat activities are its livelihood, set amidst its continuing interests in community, sustainability and spirituality.

Detailed Information:
The Narrow Ridge staff/community bring diverse backgrounds to strengthen its interfaith approach and support its goals. A land trust community is in place, and adjoining land areas are privately held by a wider community of people with Earth-care concerns. A design for organic gardens, orchards and woodlands is being carried out, and a resource center and library of current earth literacy materials are open to all who come. Narrow Ridge's simple hope for the future is to live in balance and harmony with its environment, to become real inhabitants of the land and love life on the narrow ridge.
