Detailed Information:
The California Energy Commission`s Energy Technologies Advancement Program (ETAP)program has evaluated proposals for three renewable ocean energy production technologies. These are tidal power, ocean thermal energy, and wave power.Tidal power production uses water flow to drive turbines to produce energy. Ocean thermal energy uses the temperature differential between the warm and cold layers of the ocean to drive a generator. Wave power is still an emerging technology, and the methods for recovering energy are still being developed.
