Detailed Information:
Nigeria's Niger Delta has been ravaged by environmental problems associated with petroleum oil exploration by Shell BP, Chevron, and other international oil companies. Aside from land and water pollution, Urhobo segment of the region has experienced two major fire disastsers, roasting more than 1,000 persons to death. More great fires are expected in the region in the future.
