Detailed Information:
Wirral Environmental Network (formerly Wirral Green Alliance) was formed in 1985 as an umbrella organisation representing the non-party political aspirations of the Green Movement in Wirral and the surrounding area.

We are now the largest voluntary environmental group in Wirral, with a membership that includes individuals, campaigning groups, community groups and Green businesses, all working individually and together for a better world.

As an environmental education charity, we seek to inform, advise, and encourage people to make the changes that will lead to sustainable lifestyles. We believe that the severe limitations of our present political system means that the changes needed to secure a sustainable future for our children are likely to come too late. Climate change is upon us, yet politicians still cannot agree on the way forward. As a non-party political organisation, we believe we can bring about change by motivating people to take charge of their lives. Wirral Environmental Network does not seek to effect these changes via political candidates and the ballot box.

Together with Green organisations throughout the country, we believe we are a potent catalyst for change. But this change will not happen automatically. We need people from all walks of life to join us. We can all see the problems planet Earth is facing, so we shouldnŐt need much persuading. This is important work, and it is very rewarding.
